Remember
The creative path taken by "Remember" is almost identical to that of "The Rose". Rob and Jason had developed the rhythm but had not created an accompanying melody and lyrics. The primary difference is that "Remember" is not, and has never been, a very "normal" song. The verse rhythm is based on a multiple of three, rather than a more standard two or four. The first hook, however, utilizes the more standard four but the second hook is a mulitple of five, further complicating things. All of this, naturally, greatly confused Brandi as he set about writing the melody and lyrics. At present, no one is entirely convinced he has fully recovered, as he generally demonstrates no signs of mental stability. The keyboard solo was developed by Jason and added largely to "calm down" the confused nature of the song (in addition to the simple fact that the sound ROCKED) and is recorded in multiples of two and four. How strange!
