Don't Do Me Wrong

Rob wrote the basic guitar hook for "Don't Do Me Wrong". As Jason was out of town one time, he played it for Brandi and they worked up a melody and lyrics for it, along with about five other songs they wrote at that same session. All these songs were uptempo electric guitar-oriented rockers developed from riffs Rob had written. "Don't Do Me Wrong", for no particular reason, was the only one that they picked up on immediately as critical for the recording of "Take It Back" and they were very excited about playing it for Jason when he returned. So much so, in fact, that they didn't bother recording a demo version. The song had come together so easily, in a matter of about five minutes, that they figured it was no big deal. Of course, when Jason returned and the band reconvened, neither Brandi nor Rob could remember exactly how the guitar riffs or melody were supposed to go and it took about two hours to recreate what had come about so easily over five minutes. Go figure!
